The 2012 Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community encourages people to take a step in the right direction and support Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital on Saturday, May 19. Registration begins at 7:45 a.m.; the 5K walk starts at 9 a.m. and a 1-mile fun walk at 9:15 a.m., all at Harrisburg Area Community College.
There are a lot of walks that take place in central Pennsylvania; but because this walk is completely underwritten by Highmark Blue Shield, 100 percent of the money raised will go directly to support the sick and injured children served by the Children’s Hospital.
Registration is free. Individual walkers and walk teams are welcome to participate. All walkers will receive a Children’s Hospital T-shirt.
