June 24: Lake Erie alumni golf scramble benefits Behrend scholarship

The Lake Erie Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association will hold its 19th annual charity golf scramble on Sunday, June 24, at Venango Valley Inn and Golf Course, 21217 Route 19, Venango, Pa.

The event benefits the Chapter’s scholarship fund, which has awarded more than $100,000 in scholarships to Penn State Behrend students.

The shotgun start takes place at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $90 per person ($75 for chapter members) and includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, a welcome package, continental breakfast, hot dogs and beeverages on the course, and a 12-ounce strip steak lunch.

Last year’s scramble participants walked away with more than $800 in prizes. Among this year’s opportunities are the chance to win a $10,000 seven-night vacation for two, $500 in Zero Restriction apparel, and $1,000 cash in a chip-shot contest.

Contact chapter director Mike Drabik at mdrabik@verizon.net or 814-725-2492 to register your four-person team by Monday, June 18.
