2012 Chocolate Tour to raise funds for cancer research

June 13, 2012

The second annual Chocolate Tour to support cancer research through Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center will be held on Saturday, Sept. 29. Registration begins at 6 a.m. and continues through 10 a.m. For information on specific races, go to http://www.pennstatehershey.org/web/melanoma/home/fundraising.

Cyclists, walkers, and runners can support cancer research by participating in relay full and half marathons (team events); six-mile walk and run events; and eight-mile, 35-mile, and 65-mile cycling events. With rest stops every mile, runners and walkers will enjoy local chocolate from the area. Cyclists will enjoy rides through the beautiful countryside of central Pennsylvania with its Amish farms, wooded areas and covered bridges while visiting the historic chocolate towns of Hershey (home of Hershey’s chocolate factory), Elizabethtown (home of M&M/Mars chocolate factory), and Lititz (home of Wilbur Chocolate Company).

A commemorative T-shirt is guaranteed to event participants who register by Sept. 1. To register today and for more details, visit PennStateHershey.org/melanoma.
