State College police seek information on reported indecent assault

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- The State College Police Department is investigating a reported indecent assault that occurred between 2:40 and 3 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, on the 400 block of East Calder Way near Sowers Street near Penn State's University Park campus.

The female victim reported walking westbound on East Calder Way at the intersection of Sowers Street when she was approached by an unknown black male. The unknown suspect pulled the victim off of the alleyway into an unlit area and began to indecently assault the victim. A short time later the assault ended when an unknown male walking by intervened. The suspect then left on foot.

The suspect male is described as a black male, between 18-24 years of age, over 6 feet tall with an athletic build, short or shaven head hair with "scruffy" facial hair. The suspect was wearing a gray hoodie and jeans.
