Women's soccer team tied for lead in preseason poll

Preseason voting by the coaches in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference put the women’s soccer team at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, at the top of the conference. The team shares the first-place ranking with Penn State Altoona.

The Behrend Lions won the conference in 2011, earning a spot in the NCAA Tournament. Penn State Altoona was undefeated in conference play during the regular season but lost the championship game.

Penn State Behrend finished the season with a 13-7-2 record. The team returns 11 letter-winners for the 2012 season, which begins Sept. 1 at the Herb Lauffer Memorial Tournament.

The AMCC coaches ranked Pitt-Bradford third, followed by D’Youville College and Medaille College.
