In a big step toward enriching the mobile experience for students, Penn State Information Technology Services has released a mobile schedule of courses application. The application allows students to view much of the same course information as the Web-based schedule of courses, while adding some features designed specifically for the mobile experience on iPhones, Android devices and tablet computers.
The application will enable users to search for courses by name or keyword, and view “real-time” seat availability for course sections. Additionally, the Schedule of Courses application will integrate with both the existing campus map and people directory applications, allowing users to locate their classrooms and access instructor information from their smartphones.
Penn State’s mobile Web portal, m.psu.edu, is a rapidly growing hub for Penn State students, faculty and staff who wish to access important information and services at the University.
