Video: 100 years later, it's not your father's 4-H

Pennsylvania 4-H, the youth-development program administered by Penn State Extension, has been cultivating versatile children for a century. During the last 100 years, it has evolved from its agricultural roots into a globally competitive program offering educational opportunities on everything from government to robotics.

The 4-H slogan is "learn by doing," and that is exactly what participating children are doing to prepare for their futures.

Head, heart, hands and health. That is what 4-H has stood for over the last 100 years. What started off in Pennsylvania as an agricultural program in 1912 has now developed into one of the most robust youth programs of today. Whether it is raising an animal, building a robot, or learning about our government these students will be better prepared for the future. "
