Free yoga at UHS returns this fall

The free Student Health Tune-up series at University Health Services (UHS) returns this fall with three weekly sessions. Students can take a yoga class from 4-5 p.m. on Mondays and from 4-5 or 5-6 p.m. on Thursdays throughout the semester. Monday sessions begin Sept. 10; Thursday sessions begin Sept. 13. Classes are held in 205 Student Health Center.

"This fall our director, Margaret Spear, will be teaching the Monday afternoon sessions," said Linda LaSalle, associate director for educational services at UHS. "This class will be especially geared towards those who are new to yoga."

Each week local instructors Peg Spear and Kristen Boccumini will introduce students to yoga basics. Not only can yoga help students relax, it can improve overall flexibility and fitness level. The series, held in 205 Student Health Center, is part of UHS' commitment to helping students get -- and stay -- healthy during their years at Penn State.
