Penn State Beaver announces 2012-13 United Way Committee

Members of the Penn State Beaver 2012-13 United Way Committee were announced recently.

Committee co-chairs are Dana Alvetro, program assistant, Office of Continuing Education; and Jennie Ward, staff assistant, Registrar’s Office and Division of Undergraduate Studies Office.

Other committee members are Cindy Platz, staff assistant, Office of Finance and Business; Carleen Dinello, assistant director of academic affairs and senior instructor in reading and English; Parker Goolsby, residence life coordinator; Ted Froats, manager of information technology; Renata Shaw, staff assistant, Offices of the Chancellor, Campus and Community Relations, and Brodhead Cultural Center; Dawn Steele, food preparer, Housing and Food Services, and Claudia Tanaskovic, instructor in chemistry.

This year’s fundraising activities will include dress-down days, personal solicitations, and a luncheon and silent auction for the campus community. The first dress-down day was held Friday, Sept. 21, in honor of Penn State’s Blue-Out Weekend, designed to raise awareness of child abuse.
