Employee information session about education options set for Oct. 11

Penn State Continuing Education, World Campus, Student Affairs and Undergraduate Admissions are hosting a free information session for employees eligible for University tuition reimbursement. Spouses of employees also may attend. The session will take place from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, in 129 HUB–Robeson Center at University Park campus.

"This is a casual, informative open house where attendees can obtain answers to the education-related questions they may have had on their minds for some time," said Meg Abplanalp, admissions counselor in admission services for Continuing Education and World Campus. "The tuition reimbursement can help employees and their spouses complete a degree begun previously or get started on developing a skill set that can make them more marketable. This is about keeping the education promise they make to themselves and their families."

Penn State employees can stop by any time during the session to talk with representatives from the sponsoring University units about education programs, including professional certificates and associate, bachelor's and master's degree programs, and financial aid and scholarships.

Courses are offered during the evenings, on weekends and during the day, as well as online. In addition, participants can find out about registering for courses, transferring credits and earning credits for their prior college-level learning.

The next information session will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 4. Employees who cannot attend either session may call the phone number listed below to make an appointment with an admissions counselor.

For information or to register to attend the Oct. 11 employee information session, call Adult Learner Services at 814-863-5216 or visit http://ceup.psu.edu/psuemployees online.
