HUB gallery highlights College of Arts and Architecture's history

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The HUB-Robeson Galleries will display memorabilia from the College of Arts and Architecture in celebration of its 50th anniversary with an exhibit running through Dec. 12 in one of the first-floor display cases.

Fifty years ago, education in the arts and design at Penn State took a huge leap forward with the establishment of the College of Arts and Architecture. From disciplines formerly housed in the Colleges of Agricultural Sciences, Engineering and Liberal Arts, the College of Arts and Architecture has diversified and expanded, enjoying a prominent role in the cultural and artistic community of Penn State.

While the golden anniversary will be celebrated in various ways throughout 2013, the capstone celebration will take place April 5 and 6, when the college hosts a weekend of activities and events for alumni, friends, faculty, staff and students.
