Farmers Market in Hershey voted third favorite in the nation

October 10, 2012

The Farmers Market in Hershey has been voted as the third favorite market in the nation. This is the second year the market has competed in America’s Favorite Farmers Markets, hosted by American Farmland Trust. The market finished in sixth place last year. The national contest is meant to raise awareness about local farmers markets, the role they play in supporting local farms and the importance of protecting American farmland.

There are only three more market days remaining in 2012. The market is open from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays and is located just off the west side of the Penn State Hershey campus on the lawn next to the Cocoa Beanery off Bullfrog Valley Road. The market offers locally produced fruits and vegetables, dairy products, meats and baked goods, and other specialty items.
