Penn State CTSI Day set for Oct. 24

CTSI Day on Tuesday, Oct. 24, will offer an opportunity for faculty, staff and students to learn about what the Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute has been doing and how it can help them with their research. The day is designed to be “drop in, drop out” based on an individual’s interest and schedule. It will take place in Room T-2500 (the Media Center) on the campus of Penn State Hershey Medical Center and Penn State College of Medicine.

From 10 to 11:15 a.m., hear a CTSI overview, then learn about community-engaged research, the CTSI Community Advisory Board, CTSI pilot projects and CTSI educational programs, followed by two KL2 scholar presentations. From 11:30 a.m. to 1:20 p.m., hear from three more KL2 scholars, followed by presentations on various CTSI services, including biostatistics and research design; tracking and evaluation; ethics consultation; and informatics tools.

From 1:20 to 3:30 p.m., enjoy light lunch fare while visiting CTSI services and scholars booths and posters. At 3:30, join the CTSI leadership team across from Au Bon Pain on the first floor of the college for a ribbon-cutting celebration of the new CTSI administrative suite.

The day’s programming from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. will be streamed via videoconference to University Park, 127 Noll.

No registration is required to attend CTSI Day. For a full agenda of speakers and topics, visit www.ctsi.psu.edu -- the day is listed under “events” on the top righthand side of the page.
