Nittany Networking Event set for Nov. 14 at Pittsburgh food bank

Penn State students and alumni in western Pennsylvania are invited to make new connections, enhance existing relationships and experience community sharing at a Nittany Networking Event from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 14, at the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank (GPCFB) in Duquesne.

The GPCFB distributes approximately 27 million pounds of food per year from its 94,000 square foot warehouse. The event will offer light refreshments and networking opportunities as well as a tour of this award-winning Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-certified "green" warehouse led by Ivy Ero, director of educational programs, and Chris West, regional coordinator for the Southwestern PA Food Security Partnership.

Participants will have bread and soup served in a ceramic bowl, which is an event keepsake. The event is free, but participants are asked to make a food or monetary donation to the GPCFB. Advance registration is requested. The GPCFB is located at 1 N. Linden St. in Duquesne.
