October 24, 2012

The Children’s Miracle Network program at Penn State Children’s Hospital was recognized with two national fundraising awards -- the 2011 Highest Fundraising award for mid-size markets and the 2011 Highest Per Capita award for mid-size markets -- at the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals conference last month in Florida.

This marks the fourth straight year that Children’s Miracle Network at Penn State Hershey has won these awards.

Children’s Miracle Network at Penn State Hershey also received a media award for a video about Walmart and Sam’s Club, one of the program’s top corporate partners. These awards are the result of the hard work and dedication of thousands of donors, corporate partners, families, hospital employees and volunteers.

Children’s Miracle Network raised $3.29 million for the Children’s Hospital in 2011-12 and has raised $44 million for the hospital since 1984. There are 170 Children’s Miracle Network-affiliated hospitals in the United States and Canada. Money raised helps to purchase life-saving equipment and support patient programs and pediatric research.
