UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- With the Presidential election drawing ever closer, Research Unplugged's Nov. 1 program will feature a presentation by Samuel Thompson on "Obama vs. Romney: Where the Candidates Stand on Economic Policies."
Thompson is Arthur Weiss Distinguished Faculty Scholar and director of Penn State Law's Center for the Study of Mergers and Acquisitions. He writes extensively on tax law and policy, as well as other topics at the intersection of law and economics.
He is the author of the recently published book, The Obama vs. Romney Debate on Economic Growth: A Citizen's Guide to the Issues. He noted that his Research Unplugged conversation will aim to rise above the posturing and distortion and provide a tool to help voters make an informed decision.
Research Unplugged events are held each Thursday from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. in the Downsbrough Community Room of Schlow Centre Region Library, on Allen Street in downtown State College.
