School of Music to host Single Reed Summit Nov. 9 and 10

 UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State School of Music will host the Single Reed Summit Nov. 9 to 10, in Esber Recital Hall. 

The event will include performances, master classes, lectures, chamber music, the Lyle Merriman high school and college performance competitions, vendors and several world premieres. Penn State students may attend for free with student ID. For others, registration is $10 for one day and $15 for both days. Concert tickets are also available at the door for $4.99. Guest artists will include the Capitol Quartet; Wildy Zumwalt, professor of saxophone at State University of New York Fredonia; Deborah Bish, professor of clarinet at Florida State University; the Penn State Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Dennis Glocke conducting; the Pennsylvania Quintet; and numerous regional performers. The summit is sponsored by the David Pyle Stone Music Recital Endowment, Music and Arts, the Rosemary Duncan Fund, the Penn State Saxophone Alliance, Buffet Group, Rico Reeds, Yamaha and the Margot Music Fund.
