Program encourages healthy eating during the holidays

Health Matters’ No-Gobbler Club will begin the week of Nov. 12. In its sixth year, the free, Internet-based program encourages faculty and staff from all campus locations to maintain their weight between Thanksgiving and New Year’s. Prior to Thanksgiving, participants opt to either weigh themselves on their own or attend a scheduled weigh-in session. During the holiday season, club members receive daily motivational emails that help them cope with holiday eating, physical activity challenges and other stressors. Following New Year’s, participants weigh themselves again, and anyone who maintained or lost weight since the initial weigh-in will receive a certificate of achievement and a chance to win one of several awards of LionCash.
