Engineering science alumni group honors two graduates

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Department of Engineering Science and Mechanics Alumni Society recently honored two graduates with its 2012 Early Career Recognition Award.

The group recognized Brian Piccione, a 2005 bachelor of science graduate, and Fei Wang, a 2005 doctoral graduate.

The award is designed to acknowledge graduates' professional and community accomplishments within 10 years of leaving college.

After graduating from Penn State, Piccione received an master of science in materials science and engineering from Purdue University and then a doctorate in materials science and engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. He is now a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Pennsylvania.

Wang, who received the Penn State Alumni Association’s Dissertation Award in 2005, joined Micron Technology Inc., where he develops advanced memory chips.
