Nominees sought for CLGBTE awards

January 23, 2013

Each year the Commission on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Equity (CLGBTE) recognizes the contributions of individuals within the University community who have shown outstanding service regarding lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) concerns. While there are many who work tirelessly throughout the academic year to assist the LGBTQ community, the Ally Recognition Award and the Outstanding Service Award recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the Penn State LGBTQ community. Current Penn State faculty, staff and students are eligible for both awards.

Nominations are being accepted through April 5 for one of these awards presented by CLGBTE. Visit for details. For more information, contact Terry Watson, chair, Nominating and Awards Committee and CLGBTE past-chair, at or contact the CLGBTE office at 814-863-7889.

Recipients selected for these awards will be honored at the Penn State Lavender Graduation at 6 p.m. April 19, in Heritage Hall, HUB-Robeson Center, on the University Park campus.
