The Gardens gets a facelift after design renovations

The Gardens, located in The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel, underwent a series of renovations over the winter break. Customers who frequent the establishment walked into a livelier and more colorful restaurant when it re-opened for its popular Sunday brunch on Jan. 13.

The renovations were designed to not only update the restaurant’s look, but also provide guests with a warm and comfortable dining experience. The new carpet features texturized green and yellow leaf designs. Guests now enjoy delicious meals on cherry stained mahogany tables and chairs.

“It’s very warm, inviting and comfortable,” said Penn Stater General Manager Judy Karaky.

Other additions include a glass tile backsplash, which was added to the buffet line. The tile design matches the organic style of the restaurant with deep earth tone colors. New tile flooring has also been installed, and wraps around the buffets and through the service areas.

Karaky said she has heard great feedback from guests and staff, and added that The Penn Stater staff appreciated the patience from hotel guests during the renovation.

“We have had a lot of understanding and flexibility from our guests,” she said. “Our staff has done a phenomenal job getting everything in order and ready to go. From the top down, everyone had a hand in it and everything went very well.”

The Gardens is open for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. Its menu consists of modern American-style dining options. It hosts some of the most popular buffets in the area, including its award-winning Sunday Brunch and America’s Bounty Buffet on Friday and Saturday evenings.
