Quick Start Leadership program to be offered at Penn College

Workforce Development & Continuing Education (WDCE) at Pennsylvania College of Technology will present the first series in its Quick Start Leadership program, beginning Feb. 8.

High-performing individuals are often tapped for leadership roles with little or no training in effective leadership. This program assists participants in launching their leadership careers and facilitates leadership teams by presenting common approaches to issues leaders may face.

The Quick Start Leadership Program consists of two training sessions (five hours each). The program includes the lessons Transitioning into Your New Leadership Role, Understanding and Developing Your Leadership Style, Communicating Critical Job Information, and Performing Legally and Ethically.

The sessions will run Feb. 8 and Feb. 15, with a second session offered April 19 and April 26. The program will be held at the Center for Business & Workforce Development on the college’s main campus in Williamsport. The courses can also be customized and delivered at employer locations.

Instructor Eric Bergstrom is an experienced leader of organization development, human resource management and manufacturing/operations management. Bergstrom has more than 20 years of industry experience and holds a bachelor of science and master of education in training and development as well as a doctorate in workforce education and development from Penn State.
