Beaver campus faculty members publish research

Penn State Beaver faculty members in communications, administration of justice, business, and history have published a variety of articles.

John R. Chapin, professor of communications, and Mari B. Pierce, assistant professor of administration of justice, co-authored “Optimistic bias, sexual assault and fear,” an article published in The Journal of General Psychology.

In addition, Pierce is the co-author of a book chapter titled “Examining the Impact of Familial Paternalism on the Sentencing Decision: Gender Leniency or Legitimate Judicial Consideration?” which was published in “Perceptions of Female Offenders” edited by Brenda L. Russell, associate professor of psychology at Penn State Berks.

Talha D. Harcar, associate professor of business, and Daniel W. Smith, instructor in business, co-authored “Soccer Club Jersey Sponsorship: Customer Recall and Awareness in the Turkish Super League,” which was published in the International Academy of Business Disciplines, Business Research Yearbook.

Robert Szymczak, associate professor of history, wrote an article, “Dr. Teofil Starzynski, the Polish Falcons, and the Plan for a Polish-American Military Unit, 1942-1943,” which appeared in the journal, Polish American Studies: Polish American Historical Association.
