Golden-wing warblers, blue-wing warblers, and the hybrids that result when individuals of the two species breed, typically have matched face and throat traits; they have both a black face mask and black throat patch or neither black trait. However, an extremely rare hybrid (right) carries the black face mask but not the throat patch.
