To study the interaction between canine parvovirus and host antibodies, the team created high-resolution maps of the virus using cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo-EM), a process whereby ultra-cold temperatures are used to freeze samples in glass-like ice, allowing the researchers to create three-dimensional maps of structures. The image shows canine parvovirus without antibodies attached.
