Steph Chambers, a staff photographer for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, will present her lecture at 7 p.m. in Foster Auditorium of Paterno Library. Chambers was part of the Post-Gazette’s 2019 Pulitzer Prize-winning team in Breaking News Reporting for its coverage of the Tree of Life synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh.
An alumna of Missouri State University, Chambers played field hockey for the Division I school and graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. Her passion for sports is both a personal interest and driving force in her work as a photojournalist.
Chambers returned to her hometown of Pittsburgh in 2017 to join the Post-Gazette. In her role, she works to engage the community by creating visual content on both self-directed and collaborative projects, including, but not limited to, breaking news, general news, features, sports and portraits.
Chambers has been honored as Photographer of the Year in the National Press Photographers Association’s Mid-Atlantic Region clip contest for the past four years and has earned recognition from organizations including the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association and the Pennsylvania Associated Press Managing Editors.
Her lecture is sponsored by the Norman Eberly Professor of Practice Endowment.
