At right, Lawrence W. Earl, 97. At left is a photo of Earl as a sergeant in the Army Air Corps 1943. Earl started out as an enlisted man serving as a company clerk, and later became a sergeant working as a cartographer. He attained the rank of colonel, U.S. Army Air Corps, before retirement 33 years later. "I loved serving our country for 33 years!" said Earl. "I want to add that I am very proud of my grandniece Rachel Zwerver (pictured in Earl's recent photo, on the right), a sophomore at Penn State University Park."
