CO2 diagram

Researchers are developing and testing a method to detect leakages that may occur during underground carbon sequestration. After carbon dioxide is injected underground, a network of real-time sensors, located in the injection well, adjacent boreholes, and above ground, emit pulses of energy and capture the returning seismic data. The researchers analyze this data to track the flow of carbon dioxide underground.
