Penn State Brandywine's Associate Teaching Professor of Physics Timothy Niiler is conducting research on human motion that supports orthopedic medicine.

Decreasing liver macrophages reduces inflammatory proteins in rats
Certain white blood cells, called macrophages, occur in higher numbers in older individuals and contribute to inflammation and oxidative stress that accelerate the aging process, according to a team of researchers. New findings suggest that macrophages can be altered to become less inflammatory, which may aid in improving the life span of aged individuals.

Penn State Abington students majoring in elementary and early childhood education led a campus-wide drive that netted more than 500 winter coats for children in need at its partnership school in North Philadelphia.

Twenty teams funded to develop 'AI for Good' in the Nittany AI Challenge
Twenty teams have been awarded $500 to pursue their ideas to use artificial intelligence for good in the 2020 Nittany AI Challenge to improve the world by providing solutions for problems within the areas of education, health, humanitarian challenges, sustainability and climate change.

Penn State has been recognized as the top U.S. producer of faculty Fulbright Scholars for 2019-20 by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. In addition, the University is listed as a top producer of student Fulbright recipients.

Watch our video to meet Abby Wilt, who earned her bachelor's degree at Brandywine in 2016. While a student, she danced in THON, served as a Lion Ambassador and was a campus cheerleader. Today, Abby is student teaching at the Child and Career Development Center while earning her master’s degree.

First global dialogue luncheon held at Penn State Brandywine
Last week Brandywine hosted its first global dialogue luncheon of the semester. The event was part of a campus series that brings everyday subjects into a global context. Students from Nigeria, Afghanistan, Guinea and Taiwan discussed topics related to peace and conflict around the world.
