Zoubeida Ounaies named director of Penn State Center for Living Material Systems
Zoubeida Ounaies, professor and associate head for administration in the Penn State Department of Mechanical Engineering, has been named the inaugural director of the Penn State Convergence Center for Living Multifunctional Material Systems. As part of a strategic partnership with the University of Freiburg, Ounaies will help bring together researchers on collaborative projects to broaden applications of living materials in the areas of sustainable infrastructure, robotics technologies, medical care and more.

'A Return to Order and Disorder' exhibit to be held in Borland Project Space
A new iteration of a previous project by Sue Uhlig, doctoral candidate in art education at Penn State, will be exhibited in the Borland Project Space, Feb. 11-27. The exhibit, titled "A Return to Order and Disorder," is an extension of "Between Order and Disorder," which inhabited BPS during 2018.

Student groups to host South Indian Harvest Festival, Pongal, on Feb. 16
The students of Penn State's Indian Culture and Language Club, in association with the Indian Grad Student Association, will host "Pongal," a multi-day festival celebrated in Southern India, from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 16 in Alumni Hall of the HUB-Robeson Cultural Center.
