6ABC's Karen Rogers named Penn State Brandywine Spring Soirée emcee
Since 2008, Penn State Brandywine's signature spring event, the Spring Soirée, has raised more than $250,000 for student scholarships. This year's event will be held at the Phoenixville Foundry from 7 to 11 p.m. April 12. Proceeds will enhance the student experience, providing critical dollars to support new academic programs, scholarships and student-focused campus enhancements.

Lecture on pioneers of American Modernism set for March 27
University of Penn professor, Peter Conn, will be the featured speaker at a special event that highlights the relationship between Wharton Esherick and Sherwood Anderson, two creative pioneers who made significant contributions to the creation of a distinctively American modern style. "Kindred Spirits: The Making of American Modernism" will be held 7 to 8:30 p.m. March 27, in The Conference Center at Penn State Great Valley, 30 E. Swedesford Road, Malvern.

Forums to focus on presidential search
A series of three forums focused on gathering feedback and input from the University community regarding the search for Penn State's next president will be held on March 21 and 22. Representatives from Isaacson, Miller, the firm retained by Penn State to conduct the search, will be seeking input and engagement regarding the traits and characteristics that the University's next president should embody and the opportunities and challenges the next president will face.

Ceramicist Chris Staley, the 2012-13 Penn State Laureate and distinguished professor of art at the University, is discussing topics related to creativity and the intersection between art and life in a series of videos. The Medical Minute: Colon cancer prevention
Former President Ronald Reagan, Katie Couric's husband Jay Monahan and baseball player Darryl Strawberry all shared a common malady. Each was diagnosed with colon cancer, with no known risk factors for the disease. Colon cancer is diagnosed in approximately 150,000 Americans per year. Males and females are equally affected and about one-third of all people with this diagnosis will die from the disease.
