Emmy-winning broadcaster, Olympic hurdler host 'Women in Athletics'
In honor of Women's History Month, Penn State Brandywine will host "Women in Athletics," a panel discussion led by Olympic hurdler Candy Young, athletic director at Delaware State University, and Emmy Award-winning Sports Broadcaster Jaime Fettrow-Alderfer, at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, in the Tomezsko Classroom Building Lounge.

Penn State alumnus Paul Steinke describes himself as a passionate Philadelphian, and the improvements he spearheads in his beloved hometown have earned him many high-profile awards. And for more than a decade his day job -- the general manager of the city's historic Reading Terminal Market, one of America's oldest farmers markets which attracts a whopping 6 million visitors annually -- has kept him in the spotlight.

Brandywine hosts annual literary festival with Poet Ethel Rackin
Poet Ethel Rackin will join Penn State Brandywine in a poetry and literature reading during its annual Litapalooza Literary Festival on Tuesday, April 2 at 11:30 a.m. in the Tomezsko Classroom Building lounge. During this highly anticipated, free public event, students and guests are encouraged to share their own creative works by reading, reciting, chanting, narrating, rapping or even singing for their peers.

Six faculty members receive Atherton Award for Excellence in Teaching
Six Penn State faculty members have received the 2013 George W. Atherton Award for Excellence in Teaching. They are Charles Elavsky, assistant professor of communications in the College of Communications; Mikhail Kagan, assistant professor of physics at Penn State Abington; Kathy Meehan, senior instructor of human development and family studies at Penn State Brandywine; Debra Miller, instructor of social sciences and education at Penn State Lehigh Valley; Cindy Parsons, senior lecturer of mathematics in the Eberly College of Science, and Peter Wilf, associate professor of geosciences in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences. The award, named after Penn State's seventh president, honors excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level.
