Penn State University Libraries is offering welcome events at University Park and across the Commonwealth Campuses as a way for students new to the Libraries to familiarize themselves with the spaces, faces, services and resources offered.

Spark Program provides mentoring for competitive fellowships; apply now
Penn State first- and second-year undergraduates from all campuses are invited to apply to the Spark Program, which helps students prepare for fellowship and scholarship opportunities. Two versions of the program — in-person and remote — will be offered in fall 2021.

Pa. Center for the Book announces 2021 Wordstruck Micro Essay contest winners
"Wordstruck: Micro Essays on Literature that Redefined You" is an essay contest administered by the Pennsylvania (PA) Center for the Book for 10th- to 12th-grade Pennsylvanians and it invites writers to describe how a self-selected piece of literature redefined their behavior, attitude, worldview and/or personal perspective.

'Menopause: A Comic Treatment' wins two prestigious Eisner Awards
"Menopause: A Comic Treatment," edited by MK Czerwiec and published by Penn State University Press in 2020, has been awarded the Will Eisner Comic Industry Award for Best Anthology, and Mimi Pond's "When the Menopausal Carnival Comes to Town," one of the comics contained in the anthology, has been named Best Short Story.
