Impacts of the coronavirus pandemic on substance abuse
Penn State researchers provide informed commentary on the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic on those affected by substance abuse disorder. They point out it is essential that treatment and intervention, recovery services, and prevention mechanisms remain accessible, operational and optimized. Additionally, there are multiple opportunities to leverage the expertise within Penn State to help to address acute and long-term needs.

Alumni Association announces 2020-21 Young Alumni Ambassadors
The Penn State Alumni Association has selected 11 recent graduates as 2020-21 Young Alumni Ambassadors. These young alumni will share a yearlong experience aimed at developing their skills to become the University's future volunteer leaders.

More students eligible for move out as additional counties move to yellow phase
With Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf's announcement today (May 22) of additional counties moving to yellow phase over the next two weeks, students residing in those counties can now begin scheduling a move-out date from their on-campus residence halls. A number of Penn State campuses will also begin scheduling students for move out.

Penn State to allocate COVID-19 federal emergency aid grants to 25,000 students
More than 25,000 Penn State students will receive cash grants of up to $1,000 each in an initial round of funding from the University's share of the federal Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund — money that will help students cover expenses related to disruptions in campus operations brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Penn State Go: Commonwealth Campus Experiences available starting May 13
On May 13, students at Commonwealth Campuses will be able to select their individual Penn State Go Commonwealth Campus Experience by clicking on the Change App Experience button in the app. Selecting the Campus Experience will allow students to receive important messages and updates to stay connected to what is happening at individual Commonwealth Campuses.
