Mental health plays key role in battling pandemic and its accompanying effects
By now we all should know the physical guidance that's been given related to ways to dodge or slow down the novel coronavirus: practice good hygiene, wash your hands and avoid close contact with others. But as Penn Staters across Pennsylvania and beyond complete their first week of remote learning, telecommuting and social distancing, some may be feeling overwhelmed, disconnected or even fearful.

March 24 virtual town hall events to discuss Penn State response to coronavirus
As Penn State has taken numerous measures to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus and protect the health and well-being of faculty, staff, students and communities, University leaders are convening two separate hour-and-a-half Town Halls on Tuesday, March 24, to provide updates and answer questions.

Provost shares guidance following latest statewide action
Following a March 19 announcement by Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf to end physical operations at many businesses statewide, Penn State Executive Vice President and Provost Nicholas P. Jones shared the following message with the University community.

Penn State extends remote course delivery through spring semester
Based on evolving federal guidance and statewide mitigation plans announced by Gov. Tom Wolf around the growing coronavirus pandemic and the global efforts underway to stop its spread, Penn State has extended the remote-delivery period for all classes through at least the spring semester. Examinations will also be administered remotely. Additionally, spring commencement ceremonies will be postponed while the University explores options for celebrating the achievements of our students.

Human Resources launches remote work website for employees
As a follow-up to Executive Vice President and Provost Nicholas P. Jones' March 20 announcement, it is important that everyone who can work from home do so immediately and completely until otherwise notified. To provide our employees with the necessary tools and resources needed to perform their ongoing work remotely, Penn State Human Resources has created a Remote Work website.
