To help plan for a successful transition back to in-person instruction this fall, Penn State's leadership is asking students to complete a single-question poll in LionPATH regarding their intentions about returning to campus.

Masking and social distancing classroom policies in effect for fall
To help create a safer learning, living and working environment for all students, faculty and staff, new classroom policies will be in effect this fall across Penn State's campuses in alignment with public health recommendations and Gov. Tom Wolf's requirements for higher education institutions. Specific policy guidance has been posted to the Office of Student Conduct website.

Knowledge of severe storm patterns may improve tornado warnings
A radar signature may help distinguish which severe storms are likely to produce dangerous tornadoes, potentially leading to more accurate warnings, according to scientists.

Penn State's Sexual Assault Forensic Examination Telehealth (SAFE-T) Center has been utilizing telehealth along with a community-engaged solution to enhance sexual assault care in rural and underserved communities in Pennsylvania. Now, its researchers are providing a guide to help others interested in creating similar programs.

A new fundamental understanding of polymeric relaxor ferroelectric behavior could lead to advances in flexible electronics, actuators and transducers, energy storage, piezoelectric sensors and electrocaloric cooling, according to a team of researchers at Penn State and North Carolina State.
