Aaron Bertelsen, vegetable gardener for the Great Dixter House and Gardens in the United Kingdom, will share his expert advice for growing fruit and vegetables in containers at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, at Penn State Great Valley.

Perreault Fellows Program makes 'dream' internship in Spain possible
Penn State Abington junior Genesis Berrios-Torres will serve an internship in Spain this summer through the University's Perreault Fellows Program, which provides international experiential learning for students. Berrios-Torres said Penn State Abington's diversity prepared her for this experience of a lifetime.

Penn State Brandywine celebration to honor legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.
Community members are invited to join Penn State Brandywine students, faculty and staff on Martin Luther King Jr. Day for a morning of family-friendly service activities. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday, Jan. 20, in the Student Union.

Penn State World Campus is recognized in six top-10 rankings of U.S. News and World Report's 2020 Best Online Programs. U.S. News also ranked Penn State World Campus in six categories of its Best Online Programs for Veterans lists.

Pitch competition offers $30,000 in funding for student entrepreneurs
The Pennsylvania Technical Assistance Program (PennTAP) at Penn State is looking for undergraduate entrepreneurs from any Penn State campus to compete in the 2020 Inc.U Competition. Six finalist teams will earn a spot on "The Investment," a production of WPSU-TV, giving them a chance to pitch their company for a share of $30,000 in funding. The 2020 Inc.U Competition submission deadline is Feb. 7.

Student created mosaic displayed in the Sutherland Building
Penn State Abington students Megan Close and Molly Davis present the mosaic they created in the Sutherland Building to the campus community. During the development process, they researched murals as a form of community engagement, developed and distributed surveys, and designed the mural, which was determined to be a tile mosaic. With the assistance of faculty member Chris Bonner, the students handmade each tile over the course of a year.

Marilyn Wells has been appointed chancellor of Penn State Brandywine effective Jan. 13. Wells is only the fifth campus executive officer since Brandywine was founded.
