STORIES:

23,000 students to receive COVID relief grants in first of two rounds of funding
Penn State will award cash grants to more than 23,000 students under federal COVID-19 relief funding allocated to the University from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund II, part of the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act that was signed into law on Dec. 27, 2020. The University also will offer an application-based second round of funding to support students in need who were not identified to receive a grant in the first round.

Crowdfunding campaign launched for Dr. Ross Brinkert International Travel Award
Ross Brinkert's colleagues are creating a permanent fund in his memory to provide financial support for Penn State Abington students who want to study abroad. Brinkert, associate professor of corporate communication, passed away last summer.

Penn State community celebrates Campus Pride Month in April
The Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity, in collaboration with partners around Penn State, will be celebrating Pride Month throughout April with a variety of programming for the University community across the University's campuses.

Students who cannot be on campus for fall asked to 'Raise Your Hand' in Starfish
As Penn State continues to make plans for in-person instruction for the fall 2021 semester, some residential undergraduate and graduate students may experience unavoidable circumstances (e.g., visa, travel or health-related restrictions) that will prevent them from being on campus. Students impacted by one of these situations are asked to self-identify their status by taking action in Starfish.

The Medical Minute: When you're in it for the long haul with COVID-19
For a small group of COVID-19 survivors, often referred to as "long haulers," fatigue, shortness of breath, dizziness, gastrointestinal symptoms, anxiety and depression can persist for months and can range from mild to incapacitating.
