Libraries offers $1,250 award for 2020 outstanding undergraduate thesis
 Penn State University Libraries invites submissions for the ninth annual University-wide competition for the Outstanding Undergraduate Thesis Award, which aims to find the best research by a Penn State undergraduate student in consultation with his or her adviser. The winner will receive $1,250, and awards of $750 and $500 will be presented to the second- and third-place recipients, respectively.

Penn State joins global effort for open access to emerging coronavirus research
Penn State has joined a global coalition of researcher organizations pledging to provide immediate open access to emerging research findings related to the outbreak of the 2019 coronavirus. Penn State is the first U.S. university to join.

'Dances of My Land' to showcase classical dance traditions of India on March 1
The Society for Indian Music and Arts and Nritya, both student organizations at Penn State, will present "Dances of My Land" from 3 to 5:30 p.m. March 1 in the Flex Theatre in the HUB-Robeson Center at University Park. The event will celebrate the various classical dance traditions of India through performances by Penn State students, former and present, and by members of the Penn State community.

Libraries to offer session on marginalized populations in the maps collection
A March 4 University Libraries session on "Discovering Marginalized Populations in the Maps Collection" will highlight items by and about underrepresented groups, including African Americans, Native Americans and women, and discuss the pitfalls of the lack of diversity in these collections.
