Story: Throwback Thursday: Martin Luther King Jr. and 'the future of integration'
In 1964, at the age of 35, civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. received the Nobel Peace Prize for his nonviolent campaign against racial inequality. A few weeks later, on Jan. 21, 1965 -- 50 years ago -- King visited Penn State's University Park campus and addressed a crowd of more than 8,000 people at Rec Hall on the future of integration.

Additional security planned for Jan. 15-16 board and committee meetings
Penn State Police announced that additional security for today's (Jan. 15) and tomorrow's (Jan. 16) Board of Trustees meetings will be in place and they urge individuals attending committee meetings today or the 1:30 p.m. meeting on Friday at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel to leave any large bags, backpacks or oversized handbags at home or in their vehicles.

More than 50 Penn State football players earn 3.0 or better GPAs
The Penn State football team produced a record-setting academic performance during the fall 2014 semester, with 51 squad members earning at least a 3.0 grade-point average, the second-highest total in program history.

A new addition takes the "gross" out of gross anatomy at Penn State Shenango. At approximately 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighing 125 pounds, "Synthia" is an advanced artificial cadaver designed to give anatomy students an accurate and authentic experience.

$549,000 Mellon grant supports expansion of philosophy journal
Penn State has been awarded awarded $549,000 by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation for an additional two years of development for the Public Philosophy Journal, an online space for accessible and rigorous scholarly discourse on issues of public concern.
