MLK Commemoration celebrates King's legacy; features keynote speaker Dyson
Penn State's 30th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration will celebrate the late civil rights leader's life and work with a message that "Now, More Than Ever," is the time to make King's vision of a more just and peaceful world a reality. The commemoration features events throughout the month of January, highlighted by the Jan. 22 Evening Celebration with keynote speaker Michael Eric Dyson.

Trustee Peetz to step down, her term to be filled by a former trustee
Penn State Board of Trustees member Karen B. Peetz has announced her intent to resign from the board effective at the end of the day on Jan. 15 — one day before the board's regularly scheduled meeting. Ira M. Lubert, who has served two previous terms as a trustee, has been named to fill Peetz's term on the board, beginning Jan. 16.

Faculty who use newspapers in their classrooms can get free subscriptions
Faculty who include newspaper readership as part of their required coursework can receive a daily subscription of that paper at no cost, as well as access to online classroom resources, case studies and additional teaching support materials made available by The New York Times and USA Today.
