A recent event at Penn State centered around "The Bearded Lady Project" exhibit in the Earth and Mineral Sciences Museum & Art Gallery gave 66 middle and high school students the chance to learn about diversity in geosciences and opportunities for women in science fields.

Middle and high school students interacted with exhibits in the Earth and Mineral Sciences Museum & Art Gallery during a recent outreach event. The students also heard from a panel of women graduate students about their career paths and research in geosciences.

Ellen Currano, a former doctoral student at Penn State, is a co-creator of “The Bearded Lady Project.” A documentary film that is also part of the project was screened at Penn State in October.
