Sporting a lab coat, the NIttany Lion welcomed visitors to the Edward M. Elias Science Building at Penn State York. The event on March 1, featuring Penn State football legends Jack Ham and David Joyner, helped celebrate the opening of the newly renovated Edward M. Elias Science Building at the campus. Proceeds from the program will benefit the Penn State York Science Equipment Fund.

Penn State York Advisory Board members Elizabeth Dellinger, Scott Rogers and Matthew Calabretta spent a few minutes chatting and checking out the new lab facilities during the event on March 1 which featured the opening of the newly renovated Edward M. Elias Science Building.

David Joyner, representing the Penn State Board of Trustees, commented on the importance of the new state-of-the-art science facility for students at Penn State York. He later joined his fellow Nittany Lion football player, Jack Ham, for a program about the science of sports.

Michael Elias spoke on behalf of the Elias family and shared his thoughts on the love his father had for Penn State and the York campus. He thanked the campus and University for paying tribute to his father's 35 years of work and dedication to Penn State. The Edward M. Elias Science Building on campus was named in honor of Michael's father.

David Joyner answered questions from the audience concerning everything from the seriousness of concussions and their treatment to the quality of medical care for athletes during his at Penn State York on March 1. The talk also featured Jack Ham.
