Penn State Lehigh Valley graduate Vicctoria Nadig stood to be recognized as the 2012 recipient of the prestigious Penn State Walker Award, which recognizes a commonwealth campus student who displays outstanding qualities of character, scholarship, leadership and citizenship. Nadig was recognized during the campus' spring commencement ceremony, held May 5 at Stabler Arena in Bethlehem, Pa.

Penn State Great Valley graduate Jennifer Spevak (master of education, instructional systems), who spoke on behalf of students at the campus' 22nd commencement on May 4, summed it up best. Penn State Hazleton graduate Priyanka S. Chawan, from Mumbai Maharash, India, turned her tassel after receiving her degree from campus Chancellor Gary M. Lawler. Chawan was one of three students who studied Information Sciences and Technology at Penn State Hazleton for the past two years. Lawler conferred 76 associate degrees and 42 baccalaureate degrees during the May 4 ceremony.
