Keller designed the set to resemble a Romanesque church from the 14th century.

King and his team took six weeks to construct the set of Pentecost. Each wall is 23 feet tall. It was assembled and transported in segments.

In Pentecost, an explosion destroys part of the church's wall. It had to be designed seamlessly so as not to spoil the play's climactic conclusion.
