Fred Waring, Penn State Class of '22, is the first Penn Stater to make it to the Hollywood Walk of Fame and only one of a few celebrities to have not one but three stars, for radio, television and recording. He was nationally known as director and founder of The Pennsylvanians orchestra and chorus; a pioneer in radio, stage shows, television and recording; fostered choral singing in America by organizing the Fred Waring Music Workshop; and co-inventor of the Waring Blender.
