Penn State programs strong in QS World University Rankings by Subject

Penn State ranks in the top 50 in eight subject areas in the recently released QS World University Rankings by Subject. Out of 30 subjects evaluated, Penn State ranks among the top 200 institutions in 29 subjects, placing the University in the top tier of institutions.

The Penn State Smeal College of Business MBA Program ranks 15th for ethics, according to rankings published in February by Bloomberg Businessweek. The program also ranks highly in e-business, coming in 23rd.

Penn State alumni among nation's top collegiate Peace Corps volunteers

Penn State has once again been recognized among the nation's top producers of Peace Corps volunteers. With 55 undergraduate alumni serving overseas and working in fields such as agriculture, education, environment, health, community economic development and youth development, the University is No. 21 on the Peace Corps' 2013 rankings of colleges and universities in the large school category.

"Every year, graduates of colleges and universities across the United States are making a difference in communities overseas through Peace Corps service," said Peace Corps Acting Director Carrie Hessler-Radelet.

Kiplinger's names Penn State among Best Values in Public Colleges

Kiplinger's Personal Finance named Penn State as one of the 100 Best Values in Public Colleges, recognizing the University among four-year schools that combine outstanding education with economic value.

For 2012-13, the magazine ranked Penn State as No. 48 in the annual listing, released Dec. 27. The ranking reflects schools' value for in-state students; for 2011-12 Kiplinger's ranked Penn State No. 51. Kiplinger's also compiles out-of-state value rankings, with Penn State ranked 31st on that list, an improvement from the 47th spot in 2011-12.
