Penn State program featured in final 'Impact the World' episode
Penn State's Security and Risk Analysis major will be featured as part of today's (Feb. 28) final episode of the Big Ten Network's (BTN) "Impact the World" series. The episode will air at 10:30 p.m. on BTN and will explore ground-breaking safety developments from Penn State, the University of Iowa and the University of Minnesota.

A new episode of "Impact the World" will air at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, on the Big Ten Network. The latest episode, seventh in the eight-episode series, will demonstrate how Big Ten students and faculty rally together to make a difference in their communities.
Baseball and softball BTN schedules announced
The Big Ten Network released its live broadcast schedule for the 2012 baseball and softball seasons on Thursday (Feb. 16) featuring at least seven Penn State games. Overall, the Big Ten Network will televise a minimum of 59 baseball and softball games with at least 117 games on the Big Ten Digital Network (btn.com) across all 12 teams.

The Penn State Lady Lions will host the Sixth Annual WBCA Pink Zone at Penn State game against Minnesota at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 26 and the game will be televised live on the Big Ten Network.

TV series features Big Ten breakthroughs that are changing the world
"Impact the World," a new series on the Big Ten Network, will continue at 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 17. The weekly program showcases Big Ten breakthroughs that are changing lives in the United States and around the world.
Impact the World is the first BTN collaborative campus program series produced in conjunction with the Big Ten Conference and its 12 universities. Since the network launched in 2007, BTN has aired programs produced from each Big Ten university under the University Showcase heading. The program will take viewers on a journey around the world to illustrate how breakthroughs at Penn State and all 12 Big Ten universities are improving lives.

Five Big Ten fall championships air on BTN in November
BTN will once again provide coverage of five Big Ten fall championships, including live broadcasts during the 2011 Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament, Big Ten Men's and Women's Soccer Tournaments and delayed coverage of the Big Ten Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships. Big Ten Network is televising more than 100 Penn State events this year, in addition to coverage of 15 Big Ten Championships and institutional programming.

Students endorse funding for Intramural Building addition and renovations
Penn State students have endorsed funding for the second phase of expansion of the Intramural (IM) Building at University Park. The addition supported by the Student Facility Fee Committee includes three basketball courts, extension of the running track on the mezzanine level and conversion of the existing main gym into a multi-activity court.
Bill O'Brien feature set for HBO's Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel
Penn State football coach Bill O'Brien, who earned three national Coach of the Year honors in 2012, will be profiled on HBO's Real Sports With Bryant Gumbel. The feature story on O'Brien will debut at 10 p.m. ET on Tuesday, May 21, and re-air several times on HBO and HBO2 through June 8. The program also will be available on HBO On Demand May 27-June 17.
Penn State earns school-record 8th Big Ten Championship
On the heels of the women's outdoor track and field team earning its fourth Big Ten Championship in the last six years, Penn State athletic programs have won a school-record eight Big Ten titles, including a record seven regular season crowns, during a tremendous 2012-13 athletic season. Also, the Nittany Lions' 13 Big Ten titles is the most in the 2011-13 two-year span, leading all other conference schools.
Trustees approve naming of McGloin Field at Worthington Scranton
In honor of Scranton native and former Nittany Lions standout quarterback Matt McGloin, Penn State's Board of Trustees on May 3 approved the naming of Matt McGloin Baseball Field at the Worthington Scranton campus.

Lady Lions named Play 4Kay winner
The Penn State Lady Lions have been recognized as the 2013 Play 4Kay Division I winner for their efforts in the national effort to raise breast cancer awareness and raise funds in the fight against breast cancer. The Play 4Kay initiative is a national fundraising effort is in memory of former North Carolina State University head coach Kay Yow, who was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987 and battled the disease until 2009.
Annual CVC Golf Tournament set for May 31
The 17th Annual Coaches vs. Cancer Golf Tournament will take place Friday, May 31 at the Penn State Blue and White Golf Courses. It will be the fourth event on Coaches vs. Cancer-Penn State's 2012-13 calendar as the organization nears eclipsing $2 million in total funds raised.
Studevent, Hadlock, Winiarski, Chang, Carrier named 2013 Oswald Award winners
Five Penn State students in their respective areas of leadership have been honored with the 2013 John W. Oswald Award. Gizelle Studevent is the recipient in the field of athletics; John Hadlock, creative/performing arts; Kristin Winiarski, journalism; Rachel Chang, representing scholarship; and Bridgette Carrier, social services. The John W. Oswald Award, established in 1983, annually recognizes graduating seniors who have provided outstanding leadership in at least one of several areas of activity at the University. The award consists of a medallion honoring John W. Oswald, president of the University from 1970 to 1983.
Januskova, Urschel honored with 2013 McCoy Award
Tennis player Petra Januskova and football player John Urschel have been selected as the 2013 recipients of the Ernest B. McCoy Memorial Award. The McCoy Award is presented annually to one senior female and one senior male student-athlete who have combined successful athletic participation with academic excellence. The award is named for the longtime dean of Penn State’s College of Physical Education, who also served as the University’s athletic director.
Brown wins Elite 89 Award for NCAA Wrestling Championships
Penn State Nittany Lion wrestler Matt Brown (West Valley City, Utah) is the recipient of the Elite 89 award for the 2013 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championship.
