Approximately 550 participate in Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day

This year's Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day event, presented by Penn State's Office of Human Resources and Educational Equity, took place Thursday, April 25, on Penn State's University Park campus. The event drew approximately 550 participants and their mentors to about 50 career sites highlighting the food industry, animals, nursing, horticulture, sciences, the weather, the arts and most everything in between.

Penn State's Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day program, sponsored by the Office of Human Resources and the Office of Educational Equity, is scheduled for Thursday, April 26, on the University Park campus. Brochures and registration forms for this event will be mailed out in the next week or so.

Penn State's Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day program on the University Park campus is seeking career sites for the 2012 event, which will be held the morning of Thursday, April 26, 2012. The Office of Human Resources and the Office of the Vice Provost for Educational Equity once again are co-sponsors of the program, which has been attended by thousands of youths and their mentors. Any unit or office interested in being a career site should register online by Dec. 2 at

Penn State employees host youths for annual career exploration event

Coquese Washington, head coach of the Lady Lions basketball team, ended the formal morning program of Penn State's annual Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work Day event today (April 23) with a speech about following your heart. Today, many children and young adults had the opportunity to see where following their career dreams took their parents and other mentors who work at Penn State, and learn about many of the jobs there are to dream about at the University.
