3/18/11The Penn State Beaver Faculty Speakers Series will continue at noon, Wednesday, March 30 with a presentation by Mari B. Pierce, assistant professor of criminal justice. The free program, "A Review of Women in Violent Roles," will be held in room 16, Student Union Building, and the public is invited to attend. Pierce began teaching in the fall semester for the new bachelor's degree in administration of justice at Beaver. Before coming to Penn State, Pierce was an assistant professor in the Department of Criminal Justice at Western Oregon University. She also served as the instructor of record for the Department of Criminology at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and the Department of Criminal Justice at New Mexico State University. She holds a doctorate in criminology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a master's degree in criminal justice from New Mexico State University, and a bachelor's degree in sociology from Whitman College.
